Happy Easter to all of you celebrating!

There are many things I’d like to write about today, like the referendum in Turkey. But right now I am so emotionally charged that I’d rather postpone writing down all my thoughts. So let me instead tell you a story of clumsy me in action: Last night it was so hot that I left the AC on. But at around five this morning I woke up feeling really cold. Half-asleep I decided to switch it off. Even though my room is big for a hotel room, it is only about three meters between my king-size bed and the AC switch. I managed to turn it off and waddled back to bed. Because I was rather asleep than awake, I hadn’t put on any light. And because I always draw the curtains, it is actually very dark in the room. That’s how I totally miscalculated the distance and instead of falling back onto my giant bed, I slumped to the ground. I couldn’t even brace because I was so surprised. That is why I ended up falling on my right knee, my right wrist, and my left thumb. For the first few minutes these hurt a lot, and I had to switch on the light to check that nothing bled at least. Eventually, I fell asleep again, and I don’t seem to have harmed myself. Only my neck feels uptight. I guess I was quite lucky under the circumstances, but next time I will definitely try to switch on the light. Or at least to hit the bed better – because a king-size one is so big that it’s quite hard to miss, even in the dark. Unless you are a queen of clumsiness, like I am.
