Week in review: 6 – 12 April 2020

Happy Easter! I hope you have all enjoyed the day. We skipped the Easter egg hunt this year and had a relaxing day on the sofa.

Overall, this week was not great. After Rich had fever, I also fell sick. At one point I had breathing problems and we walked to the closest emergency room. While they said that I most likely had Coronavirus, all lab etc. results were good and I could go home after a few hours. After that I have started to feel better every day. So in case we ever get tested on antibodies, we’ll see what we actually came down with.

On a positive note, it was Rich’s birthday yesterday. And even though we couldn’t go anywhere, we managed to have a lovely day. I had made him a babka for birthday cake which we had for breakfast. Fortunately, I had gotten most birthday gifts before we fell sick. So they all waited to be opened by him. Amongst other things I gave him the board game “Pandemic: Reign of Cthulhu”, which we already enjoyed playing – although we lost twice against the pandemic. (We have the original Pandemics game and also already played both season games to the end.) His whole family later on sang “Happy birthday” for him in a Zoom meeting. The whole meeting was fun because we were all in different places in North Carolina, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and California. We then finished the day with a three course meal that I cooked. Definitely a sign of how much better I already feel.

Our plans for next week? Rich is going to go back to work at the hospital. I will hopefully finally get the chance to enjoy my spring break a little. I also wouldn’t mind taking a walk outside again any time soon.

How have you been doing?
