Week in review: 7 – 13 September 2020

I got one important thing done this week: I cancelled my gym membership. While I felt good about having it, that was about the only thing I liked about it. I don’t enjoy going to a gym. Actually, the only gym I ever liked was a very fancy one in Istanbul that also came with a swimming pool and a sauna. I had not missed the gym even once since lockdown started in March.

Anyway, while cinemas are still closed and so is indoor dining in New York City, for some reason gyms have been allowed to reopen. Only our gym is in a basement. And even if I wanted to do more exercise, I just don’t feel comfortable working out in a basement where plenty of other people are breathing hard. So instead of feeling bad about paying, but not going to the gym, I finally cancelled my subscription. I’ll invest my money instead in indoor dining, once that is allowed again (hopefully by the end of this month).
