There is something not quite right about my February

Recently I haven’t been very successful with my #29daysofblogging. But in the end things like ordering my own furniture for my living room are more important to me. I am really looking forward to my own dining table and four chairs, my coffee table and the carpet to arrive over the next days. I would have loved to blog yesterday, but it just didn’t happen:

When I wanted to fly to a training to Washington with two colleagues, our flight from Boston was delayed. Only when we were already on the plane, they announced that we would, if at all, only depart two hours later at the earliest because there were heavy thunderstorms and a tornado watch. We were stuck on the airfield and neither got water – we had asked the stewardess – nor could we buy any drinks or food. At least we were lucky, and finally departed with a delay of two hours and fifteen minutes. But there were also turbulences. So it was actually alright for our stomaches to be empty. Our landing was even quite beautiful as Washington was brightly lit, and we could clearly see the Washington Monument and the Capitol. Unfortunately, we landed only at 10.30 p.m. when all the shops at the airport were already closed. The line for cabs was extremely big, and when we arrived at our hotel at eleven thirty, the kitchen there had long closed, too. My workmate hat the amazing idea to quickly order pizza from Domino’s before they also closed at midnight. They really delivered our pizza shortly after twelve, and we wolfed it down. Afterwards, we only managed to fall asleep immediately.

There is something not quite right about my February

As for me, there is something not quite right about this February. Right now it even looks like we won’t even have time to go into Washington D.C.’s center and do some sightseeing, before we return to Boston on Saturday evening. Of course I was still lucky under the circumstances because I originally chose to not stay another day – on Sunday I have to take all my belongings fast into the bigger room before my new roommate moves in on the same day. Sometimes all this stress gets on top of me so that I would love to hide under the duvet and wait for better days. But that unfortunately isn’t possible either. At least March starts next week, and it will hopefully be a far better month.
