I wasn’t as successful with my daily walks through Manhattan last week. I walked only 18.35 km and cycled another 4.5 km. The main reason for this decrease in distance though was that I stayed at home on Friday and Saturday.
During my walk on Thursday I bought and drank a mango margarita in Hell’s Kitchen. Now I don’t know how much alcohol was really in there, despite it being real cheap at $7, but it totally knocked me down. We had a big dinner once I got home and I drank at least a liter of water, but it didn’t help much. I felt so drunk that I had to go to bed early and felt quite hungover on Friday morning. On a positive note, we now all know that on get drunk for very little money in Hell’s Kitchen.
The other reason why I stayed at home those two days was that my allergies bugged me a lot. If you have followed me for longer, you already know that I have had sinus problems for years and they eventually figured out that it’s all caused by an allergy – against something nobody knows. Last week it got so bad that I couldn’t sleep half the night because I couldn’t breathe through my nose despite taking antihistamines and nasal spray. I finally feel better this week.
All in all, I still enjoy my almost daily walks a lot. They are so relaxing and I always discover new corners.
