Beauty: March 2017 Empties

It is kind of funny how many products I use up when I really concentrate on it. Last month I complained that I never seem to throw away any makeup products – and a week later two of my favorite eyeliners became empty. It is a good sign though to deplete more of my inventory because I have got way too many things. I know I know, I probably notice this every spring (and then start hoarding again during fall and winter). I guess it always coincides with me becoming restless and wondering if I’d like to move again. For the notice: I don’t plan on moving any time soon – unless I’d find a great one bedroom apartment for Canavar and me. Last weekend I registered on Vinted (the U.S. version of the German Kleiderkreisel) where I want to sell all the beauty products I neither need nor use [here]. After the spring break I also want to declutter my wardrobe more and offer clothes for sale there.

Beauty: March 2017 Empties

The Body Shop Wild Argan Oil Bubbling Bath: I love taking long and hot baths. The Body Shop bubble bath smelled good and created much foam. I naturally liked it.

Bath & Body Works Magic in the Air Body Lotion: It is one of my favorite companies. On Black Friday I ended up buying a huge bag of products like this body lotion. The scent was really nice, and the lotion as good as all of them.

Laura Mercier Ambre Vanillé Soufflé Body Crème: The consistency of the cream is amazing, it’s really soft. But I hate vanilla smell. This small pot was part of a set I once bought, which is the only reason really why I had the vanilla kind. I only used it on days when I was in a more than awesome mood. But if, unlike me, you like vanilla, you’ll love this cream.

Body & Earth Frosted Berries Body Butter: I’m still using up all the creams from that set. I really like how light the cream – again: definitely not body butter – is. Frosted berries smelled more like any kind of candy, but that was alright.

Pure by Gloss Body Lotion: That was just a bottle from a hotel (can’t remember which one). I love those sizes for whenever I go away again. While I usually leave the soap and shampoo behind, I always take the body lotions from hotel rooms (unless they smell of vanilla, haha).

Batiste Dry Shampoo Light & Breezy Fresh: It is my absolutely favorite dry shampoo, and I’m already using the next bottle. I also talked about it here.

Colgate Sensitive: I only buy toothpaste for sensitive teeth – and they work. My teeth have become quite indolent. There isn’t really anything else to say about toothpaste I guess.

Dermal Bamboo Collagen Essence Mask: A long time ago I had ordered this big set of sheet masks online. And unless I find another one hidden somewhere, this might have been the last one. I actually like the Dermal masks because they are easy to use, don’t smell weird, and my skin really looks plumped up afterwards.

ProX by Olay Anti-Aging Exfoliating Renewal Cleanser: A few months ago I bought the ProX facial brush and a small size of the cleanser was in the box as well. The cleanser was good, I especially liked the exfoliating particles. I’d even buy it again if I didn’t still have other cleansers to empty.

Yves Rocher Néonatura Sap Perfume: I can’t even remember where I have these samples from. But whenever I go away, I take them with me because the scents are fresh and decent.

Gola Classics Eau de Toilette: This was a gift from my granny, who loves to give perfumes and shower gels. I still have the corresponding shower gel. Anyway, the scent was nice and floral so I used it on a daily basis.

Wet n Wild Megaimpact Mascara: As mentioned before, I love small sizes for trips. Wet n Wild mascaras are cheap and do a great job. There’s nothing more to add.

Gosh Base Fixante Waterproof in 001 Matt: I loved this stick. It was a great eyeshadow base and so easy to use. It didn’t dry out although I used it for about two years. Nope, I really used it up. I would have bought it again, but couldn’t find it anymore. So I got another base – that actually proved to be even better than the Gosh stick.

Colourpop Crème Gel Liner in Fast Lane: I loved this dark green eyeliner because it stayed put for a whole day. I use eyeliners almost every day and hate when they eventually smudge or disappear. Now, please don’t ask me why, but for some reason I did not only have this gel liner as a stick, but I also own a pot of the same color. Now I’m using that one a lot, too.

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner Black: This eyeliner lasted a long time. Due to its felt tip it was so easy to paint on. The black was dark and shiny. I simply loved it. But as usual (at least during springtime): I have other eyeliners to use up first before I even consider buying a new one.

So far I have emptied 26 products this year. 18 of them were full size.

  1. Hi Jana, thank you for this nice blog post. May I ask which new eyeshadow base you’re talking about? I was also desparately looking for this Gosh Base Fixante and can’t find it anywhere any more (looked for it in Austria and Germany). Would be thankful for your recommendation! Thank you, Martina

    1. Hi Martina,
the Wetnwild Eyeshadow Base is amazing (I’ve never had a better one)! I don’t know if you can find it in Europe though, but Amazon or Ebay should have it. Happy Easter!
