Beauty: A Week of Lips #1

I have a huge makeup collection. And even though I do not feel like reducing it, I think I should use all products more regularly instead of always just the same ones. I really like Dani’s Beauty Blog where she has posted about her weeks of lips for several months now. So I also want to introduce this kind of post to my blog. I have enough lipsticks to have many future posts like this. If I alternate more in using them, I might become a little more creative again with my makeup in general. Or, who knows, maybe I do either discover long lost gems or products I really want to throw out. So far unfortunately I have only discovered that I’m missing one of my favorite lipsticks ever. Despite looking for it in handbags, I still haven’t found it.

These are the five lipsticks I wore this week:

Revlon Color Stay Ultimate Suede It Girl – Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter Wild Watermelon – Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter Macaroon – Korres Watermelon – Clinique Chubby Stick Intense Plushest Punch

Both, the Revlon Color Stay Ultimate Suede It Girl (left) and the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter Wild Watermelon (right) are bright colors. But thanks to the lipsticks formulas they appear rather sheer. They also last for several hours before I have to re-apply them.

The Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter Macaroon is one of favorite lipsticks. The color is so natural that I can’t go wrong. It basically enhances my own lip color. This is one of the lipsticks that I am sure I will even use up one day. I bought all three Revlon Lipsticks once upon a time in Poland when I went to Krakow for a language course [here]. At the time Revlon wasn’t sold in Turkey and I had read so many positive things about this brand’s lip products that I couldn’t wait to try them – and they have never disappointed me.

I think we all know by now what a big Korres fan I am. I bought the Korres Watermelon lipstick during a vacation in Greece a few years ago where Korres products are so much cheaper. Even though there is glitter in the lipstick, this is not visible on the lips. Instead the consistency turns almost into a gloss and the color is very shiny. Since I love pink, I think this lipstick is just wonderful. Another grade shade of pink is the Clinique Chubby Stick Intense Plushest Punch. Do you still remember how much the chubby sticks were hyped once? I think it is a little sad that they are almost forgotten now because they are amazing. The color is so bright and intense and it lasts for hours.

Since those are some of my favorite lipsticks anyways, all of them obviously stay in my collection. But I also realized that trying all my lipsticks I probably shouldn’t buy any new ones for a very long time because I tend to buy similar colors. It would make far more sense to show a little more attention to the ones I already own.
