Week in review: 27 December 2021 – 2 January 2022

After Christmas with the extended family and then Rich’s parents visiting us for another few days, I really needed a few days to just be alone and get even more sleep than usually. I also realize that I am just way faster exhausted these days, now that I am more than 34 weeks pregnant. I guess it makes sense that in many countries I would now start maternity leave. And it makes me appreciate even more that I can just stay at home now because the U.S. only has a pretty crappy maternity leave policy. I have heard several stories of women working even on the day when their labor started. So yay for our comfortable situation!

As for the start of this year, as a hopefully good omen I won the Broadway lottery yesterday. So we got two tickets for “Six” for $60 for tonight. We heard friends raving about this musical and really wanted to see it as well. I participated in the lottery many times without winning, but this time we got lucky. It also always makes me think: What if this is the last show I/we get to see for a while?! Which reminds to finally book tickets for “Matrix” in the movies this coming week … cause who knows.
