Something I love about autumn and winter is that most of the good movies are published during these two seasons. This also means that I go to the cinema much more often. I went twice alone this week. First I watched “Murder on the Orient Express”, then “Justice League”. I am especially fond of superhero and fantasy movies, but I also like comedies. The only genre I never watch are horror movies, which is why I don’t tend to go to the cinema in September and October when usually rather many scary films come out. Like I don’t have any problem reading Stephen King’s novels, but I would never ever watch the screen adaptations.
When I was a teenager, there wasn’t any cinema close to where I lived. The small one in the town I went to school in closed at the end of the 1990s, and the next cinema was about 75 km away. So I missed out on several years of cinema before I moved to a bigger city for university. I think this is why I am still so fascinated by going to the cinema. I love sitting in front of the giant screens in the dark, munching on popcorn and drinking cherry coke. I neither have any problem doing this alone – I am not great at sharing popcorn anyway.
This winter I am looking forward to these upcoming movies:
- Wonder
- Jumanji
- The Greatest Showman
- The Post
- Father Figures
- Downsizing
- Maze Runner: The Death Cure
- Black Panther
- Proud Mary
- Alpha
