A new category for my blog: Monday Morning Mood. But make it positive. Here I’m going to share things I liked, fun things, things that stand out to me in a positive way, so that the start into Monday and the new week is as great as possible.
Snow in the City
I had been waiting for snow in the City for what feels like forever. We had the last proper and lasting amount of snow in February 2021 (when I slipped and broke my wrist). Ever since, it hardly snowed. This season I am so optimistic about us finally getting snow again that I purchased a sled for us back on Black Friday. And we had snow on the ground on Christmas Eve. Only my toddler decided to throw a fit when I suggested going outside. But I finally got my first snow experience last week when I took a walk in the evening while it was snowing. And now we’re having finally an actual snowstorm. As today is a holiday (Martin Luther King Day), we will attempt to take the girls out sledding. Fingers crossed that there is enough snow on the ground for us.
Van Leeuwen Ice Cream’s Sicilian Pistachio Cream Sundae
This is a very NYC thing. But if you’re here these days, run to a Van Leeuwen Ice Cream shop and get yourself the most delicious sundae ever! I’m not saying this easily. I usually don’t even like ice cream when it’s cold outside. But for this one I make an exception. First of all, pistachio ice cream – I love it! Second, the pour warm fudge on it, which then freezes. Last, they top it with even more pistachios. This sundae is heaven in an ice cream cup!
A Statement Outfit
I love statement t-shirts. And sequins. And pink. Which makes me feel extremely good in this outfit. A little dose of dopamine plus a clear message to Washington D.C. the world.

Blue Mascara
I unpacked my PR package on Saturday, and Josephine, upon seeing the blue mascara, insisted I immediately apply it because: “Wow! Blue!!!” So I did. The Sephora Size Up Volumizing Mascara in Blue reminds me a lot of the end of the 1990s and start of 2000s. Instead of applying it onto my eyelashes back then, I usually put it in my hair. Hair mascara was the only color I was allowed to apply to my hair. And, man, did I feel rebellious and bold. My new blue mascara definitely evokes the same feeling.
Three Recent Books
Within this last week, I finished three books. All of them were good and entertaining, although not perfect. But that is fine with me, esp. considering that two of them are parts of series, and I have continued those because I really like them.

I’ve been a fan for years. If you follow me on Instagram, you already know that I met him shortly after his concert here in NYC last November. It was my big fan girl moment. Anyway, I love his music, and listening to it always calms me and makes me happy.
