Immer wieder sonntags #93

|Getrunken| Wasser, Kaffee, Cider, schwarzen Tee

My last week of vacation is over, and slowly but certainly my days are developing a routine. I finally even bought a new watch because from now on I have to be on time. Something that wasn’t very important in Istanbul. My first working day was on Friday, an introduction. Unfortunately, it was raining on Friday of all days so I had to take the bus to school instead of walking across the river in beautiful sunshine as I had originally planned. But I was still on time, and my lunch box was also filled. You see I had never before taken a lunch box to work, and now I’m collecting ideas so that I won’t only pack ordinary sandwiches. I also have regular working hours for the first time, and sandwiches from the supermarkt next door are pretty expensive. That means I have to plan at least on the evening before what I actually want to eat. It will take some time though until I am really used to this. But I am looking forward. So far to me the American work culture seems very differently structured than the Turkish one. Thus, there are many new things to watch and learn. After all those restful weeks I am now ready.

|Watched| Walk of shame
|Read| Game of Thrones, The woman I wanted to be, How children succeed
|Listened to| n-joy radio
|Done| applied for my first US credit card, had my first day at work, took a walk with a new colleague through Boston, finally had somebody assemble my bike, went to the swing lesson
|Eaten| filled peppers, mango salad, chili con carne, Cuban sandwich, bacon and eggs for breakfast
|Drunk| water, coffee, cider, black tea
|Thought| When everybody is that positive, it is really hard to stay pessimistic.
|Been glad| that work is really starting right now
|Laughed| when I tried to sell “stand-up paddling” as an American English word to my housemate – only nobody would ever say this here, it is “paddleboarding”
|Desired| some more information
|Bought| a watch, a pink lunch box, two – eh – small things in Sephora

  1. Guten Morgen,

Mach dir doch einfach selbst Sandwichs.

    LG Myriam
