Beauty: My first US favorites

I live in paradise, at least when it comes to beauty products. Here I can find everything, and if I can’t, I can order it from somewhere. I kind of knew before that things wouldn’t turn out well for my bank account. I’ve read e.g. Alicjas blog for a long time and couldn’t wait to finally buy Wet n Wild products or Disney LEs at Walgreens myself. I love to walk into shops and look at all the products. Especially when there is a buy one, get one free offer, my curiosity and the bargain-hunter in me usually win over my common sense. This is why I bought several Wet n Wild lipsticks two weeks ago – but seriously, I just had to adopt them at a price of one Dollar for two lipsticks. The lipsticks are of a great quality by the way. They stay put for about six hours despite eating and drinking, and they don’t dry out my lips either. The L’Oréal lipstick in Nude (J. Lo) is just as awesome. I really had to get that one after I hadn’t only seen it in all the magazines, but it is also always sold out. Sales strategies work perfectly for me …

I also own several Revlon nail polishes, esp. thanks to different special offers *oops*. Fortunately, here the quality is very good as well, and I also like the color range. I find this nail polish series with smells really interesting because I hardly know those from other brands. Here the smells aren’t disgusting at all, but really smell according to what their names say.

Actually, I am pretty lucky that the closest Sephora is not just around the corner – even though I have already discovered online shopping. I still prefer to have a look at and try the products in a shop. This is how I found the Shadow Couture Palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills. I have used it all the time for two months. The eyeshadows are very well pigmented, soft and hold all day long (on top of a base). The brand has just brought out a new palette, and I am very tempted to order it.

I found the turqoise kajal which belongs to the store brand, and the Shimmering Skin Perfector from Jaclyn Hill for Becca also at Sephora. Both are great products, which always lie on top of my drawer. There is also Sephora in Turkey, but their choice of products was tiny in comparison. So right now I feel like the little puppy standing in the butcher’s shop and wanting like everything. At some point I’ll get the idea to first use up products before buying new ones … but it’s definitely going to take some time until then.
