Week in review: 17 – 23 August 2020

I can’t believe that summer vacation is almost over. Actually, I think I say this every year. It is true though. I haven’t done half the things I wanted to. And tomorrow I already have my first big meeting in school. From Thursday on we have conferences and workshops to prepare. Even though I can’t yet imagine what school is going to be like (like with masks and distancing and most likely no amazing coffee machine to use in the staffroom), it might be a nice change. Then again, I haven’t missed my commute at all during the last 6 months. Plus my car is still in Boston and we’ll pick it up only next weekend.

Besides school starting, we are now enjoying the City as it is slowly cooling down. It definitely isn’t as hot and humid as it used to be two weeks ago. Soon enough we might even be able to sleep without our fan. It is even more fun to cook again because I’m not melting in the kitchen. So when we invited two friends for a game night on Wednesday, I insisted on cooking a vegan two course meal because I had fun. It took me a while to get back in the cooking game, but now I enjoy it so much. I can’t wait to share more recipes with you!
