Wisst ihr, was noch viel cooler ist, als am Samstag einfach mal mit meinem besten Freund hier zu Ikea zu fahren, schon alleine um Hotdogs zu essen? Nächstes Wochenende fahren wir nach New York! Jubel! Ok, das hat in gewisser Weise etwas mit unserem Job zu tun, Stichwort: kleiner Schüleraustausch, aber es ist schon ziemlich geil, einfach mal wieder für ein Wochenende nach New York zu fahren. Sicher ist es erst seit Freitagnachmittag, weil es wie immer schwierig ist, eine bezahlbare Unterkunft in der Stadt zu finden. Wir werden Samstag früh losfahren und kommen Sonntagabend zurück. In meinem Kopf plane ich schon, was ich mitnehme und was wir dort machen werden. Obwohl alle mich allein mit einem kleinen Ausflug zum Simit Sarayi, der türkischen Cafékette auf der 5th Avenue, vollkommen glücklich stimmen könnten. Davor liegt nun noch eine Viertagewoche (morgen ist Feiertag), die es kurz vor den Zeugnissen noch einmal in sich haben wird. Aber hey, wen stört das schon?! Es ist ein Wochenende in Sicht, an dem wir nach New York fahren. Ikea gestern war übrigens auch ziemlich toll.

Do you know what is even cooler than going to Ikea on a Saturday with my best male friend here, and if only to eat hotdogs? Next weekend we are going to New York City! Cheers! Ok, this has got to do with our job in a way, keyword: little school exchange, but it is pretty awesome to once again go to New York City just for a weekend. The trip was only confirmed on Friday afternoon because it always proves difficult to find an affordable accomodation in the city. We are departing on Saturday morning, and return on Sunday evening. In my mind I already plan what to take with me and what to do there. Although they could easily make me very happy with a little stop at Simit Sarayi, the Turkish cafe chain on 5th Avenue. Before that, there is another four-day week (there is Martin Luther King Day tomorrow), which will pack a punch just before the end of the first school term. But hey, why should I be bothered?! There is a weekend on the horizon on which we go to New York City. Our trip to Ikea yesterday was also pretty neat by the way.
