Immer wieder sonntags #110

You live in Boston, Massachusetts? Why? People only live there because they love the cold.”

24 hours, four airports, three flights, and I made it back to Boston. Of course only my last flight was delayed because they were one crew short. Eventually they found one, and we climbed such a small airplaine that we had to hand in our carry-on luggage because the little suitcases wouldn’t have fit into the overhead bins. I unfortunately slept through all meals on all flights and had to ask for them later on. And believe me, KLM food is pretty delicious. They even serve ice cream on their long-distance flights.

Speaking of ice, when I entered the US in New York the officer said to me: “Boston? You live in Boston, Massachusetts? Why? People only live there because they love the cold.” Appropriately, it has become really cold in Boston now, and today it even snowed a little. It is a little bit like in Istanbul recently. Only here I now also have my cat to warm me. Because he was so happy about me being back, he slept on my belly nearly all night long. I unpack my suitcase only tonight, and then I am straight back in my American everyday life.
